The Love We Both Know
The love we both know
Twelve hours shifts
Pushing those pills
After three days
It’s time to chill
But Ozzie needs insulin
A tolerance test
First thing in the morning
No day off to rest
The microwave oven
Has gone on the bittz
The new one needs mounting
And pray that it fits
Priorities priorities
No time for one’s self
The physical, the sexual
One’s own mental health
Perhaps a new time slot
Might be considered
Before frustrated feelings
Turn into embittered
As mentioned in prose
Of “Love Here and Now”
The time for each other
Should be allowed
If mornings are busy
The evenings will do
One can’t be choosy
How about afternoons?
Somehow a way
May need to be found
To stop the wheel spinning
slow everything down
Lay down beside me
Close your blue eyes
I’ll pamper and pet you
‘Till the tension subsides
To let love build slowly
No hurry no rush
No thought about problems
There’s only us
What could be nicer
What could be sweeter
The passion of giving
The joy of receiving
The hour hand frozen
On the clock in our heads
Time at a standstill
In this loving bed
Fingertips gliding
On each other’s skin
Lips lightly brushing
And so it begins
The movement the motion
Two bodies immersed
The dance of desiring
A love unrehearsed
Intimate moments
More important than lust
A sharing, a knowing
A feeling of trust
An ebb and a flow
A rise and a fall
Passion soon answers
Loves clarion call
Restraint is unleashed
Skin upon skin
A moistness surrounds
The hardness within
A pair of explosions
Our heartbeats increase
Timed to perfection
The sweetest release
Bathed in the moment
A soft afterglow
Nothing is better
Than the love we both know
