S. O. D.

S. O. D.

You are hear-by advised

To take another glance

At a commitment once made

Involving our romance

You may not feel a duty

To uphold the clauses verbatim

For being agreed to in the heat of passion

Should not be considered an ultimatum

That you were incapacitated

You may try to declare

Due to too many ounces of alcohol

Your emotional state was impaired

Though it’s true that the early days

Of Our affair were quite the whirlwind

And that things are more predictable now

And not applicable as to back when

Back when the blood was boiling

And the sheets got wet with sweat

When the limbs were all entangled

And the kisses deep and wet

But now things are more reasonable

A scheduled time and place

Just two positions to consider

No Kama Sutra to embrace

Needless to say there still remains

An underlying obligation

That most assuredly was agreed on

And not open to interpretation

And if remembered correctly

It’s not that easy to forget

The words were stated clearly

So there would be no regrets

No chance to dodge or duck the facts

The restraints are explicitly laid out

Restated here to refresh your memory

So as to leave no doubts … To wit

The parties involved

Do solemnly agree

To fully comply with the other’s desires

To the utmost degree

That each shall be entitled

To request participation

Whereas a mandatory status

Shall be the application

This shall be constituted

And considered a permanent pact

One that can’t be broken

An irrevocable contract

That any reasonable request

Shall be given prompt consideration

The other party shall be accommodated

Without delay or deviation

This definition is a narrow one

And limited in scope

applying only to the physical

Specifically it denotes

As an acronym easily displayed

It is simply S. O. D.

This agreement written in our hearts

A pledge between you and me

That our bodies shall always be willing

To succumb and understand

That passion is our scared dwelling

Built on bedrock and not sand

A foundation firm and solid

Each at the other’s command

A construction made from the two of us
