Robot Love
Robot Love
If we were both robots
We rwould not be afraid
Of having our hearts broken
From love that is betrayed
And it would not matter
If we lost at love again
For we would never give a thought
To love that might have been
We would have no feelings
No emotions to endear
Jealousy would not compute
Nor could we shed a tear
No.....we are not both robots
Constructs of shiny steel
Amalgamations made of nuts and bolts
With no ability to feel
Human to the core we are
Feeling pleasure and enduring pain
Simply made of flesh and bone
No CPU’s for brains
But if we woke up mechanized
Electronic through and through
We’d interface and sparks would fly
And Robot Love would start anew

Robot Love - original draft
If I were a robot
I would not be afraid
Of having my heart broken
From love that is betrayed
And it would not matter
If I lost at love again
For I would never give a thought
To love that might have been
I would have no feelings
No emotions to endear
Jealousy would not compute
Nor could I shed a tear
Yet human to the core am I
Feeling pleasure, enduring pain
Simply made of flesh and bone
No CPU for a brain
No.....I am not a robot
A construct of shiny steel
An amalgamation of nuts and bolts
With no ability to feel
But if I was.... I would still love you
If you were a robot too
