Warm cotton

First stirrings

Touching toes

A low murmur 

Sliding close

Whispers of “Morning” 

Arms wrap around

Kisses so soft

“Mmmm...” is your only sound

No work

So sweet

Drifting off once more

Dreamy sleep

Fingertips 

Lightly touch

A familiar caress

From the one you love

Stretching 

Eyes open anew 

Smiling blue eyes 

Looking back at you

Time to stir

Duty calls

Feed the pets

Feed them all

The Keurig purrs

To the rim cups are filled

Back to bedroom

Careful .... don’t spill

The TV is on

With the volume down low

It’s just background noise

It’s needed... you know! 

Sipping coffee

Checking the mail

Watching the news

Checking the scale?

Coffee’s now cool 

“Let’s warm things up!”

The door is pushed closed

Spectacles come off

Head on a shoulder

Legs intertwined

Love is a “motion”

Leave the world behind

You move to the “top”

Of passion’s assent 

The summit’s attained
