The day’s unspoiled

The curtains have all been thrown 

Open to the the warming light

Darkness receding with love’s dawn

Love’s decor 

Is clean and rearranged 

Dust covers removed reveal each piece 

No longer soiled and stained

Beams of sunshine 

Swirl and spin like lace

On polished floors reflecting

passion’s perfume fills the space

There’s no flutter 

In my chest when I’m alone

A calmness in my recesses

A beat that’s slow and strong

Heart’s walls display 

Pictures hanging straight and true
