Willie’s road’s making music with his friends 

Roger Miller rode like a King

Asleep At the Wheel drove down Route 66

Lightfoot’s  Highway was a Carefree thing

The Beatles Road was Long and Winding

Stephenwolf’s was just Born Wild

Denver longed for his Country Roads

And Yoakam’s Nowhere went 1000 miles

Now Johnny’s Been Everywhere Man

Guthrie’s bound for New Orleans

After Six Days Dudley made it home tonight 

And Tom’s resting place was double Green 

All these songs are wonderful 

Like Ronstadt’s Bayou Blue

Each one of them a little gem

With a different point of view 

But the road song singing in this heart  

Is one that’s straight and true

And guides my GPS to find

The Shortest Road to you
