Bedtime Romance

The day’s almost over

The grandbaby’s in bed

And all of the guest’s 

Good night’s have been said 

The doors are all locked 

Those chores they’re complete

The puppies have gotten 

Their “go to bed” treats

The thermostat’s set

The shades have been drawn

Water bottles in place

The ceiling fan’s on

Slip on your PJ’s

Turn out the light

But wait just a second 

Before the “good nights”

Morning’s preferred

It’s planned in advance

Because fooling around

Can’t be happenstance 

But might I implore

Could there be a small chance

On this boy you’ll bestow
