The Phantom Of Romance
The Phantom Of Romance
An outline on my memory’s wall
Of a past love lost and jaded
The shape of my heart is all that remains
Where passion’s paint has faded
In the twilight of my thoughts I roam
Through a mist of dreams and stars
Seeking the essence of love's lost home
Beyond mere earthly bars
The whisper of a dream’s dark shadows cast
Silhouettes of a loveless time
Echoes of laughter fragment the past
Mingled with a sorrow’s chime
Beneath the layers of silence thick
Lies a story left untold
Of moments fleeting and hearts once quick
Now memories slowly growing cold
Yet in the quiet a spark still glows
Of what once was but now is gone
That love, though faded, still shows
In the heart’s eternal song
Within the gloom a cinder ignites
A flicker of a love anew
From the ashes a phoenix takes to flight
To paint the skies with hues
New chapters penned in vibrant ink
A heart reborn and unafraid
For where one breaks another will link
In a tapestry freshly made.
So walk on with hopeful stride,
To futures bright and bold
Love’s a journey though the path may hide
Once again it will unfold
There in the still where passion bends
A knee to a truth justified
That love, though lost, will never end
And is once again baptized
As whispers weave their magic lore
Through ethereal halls where spirits dance
Within the heart’s most deepest core
I chase the Phantom Of Romance
