Christmas Eve Prayer

A Christmas Eve prayer

There’s simply no time

To come up with rhymes

To try to cajole and persuade

The evening is waning 

Mere hours remaining 

To have my emotions relayed

A quick resolution 

Would be the solution

To my situation so dire

For her magic motion

Is the only potion

To quell this boy’s burning desire 

I only can pray

Her heart I may sway

And tame all her feminine wiles

My desperate attempt

Won’t be exempt

From her scrutiny and her guile 

We’ll trade all the hustle

And holiday bustle 

Of stores full of pushing and shoving

For a nice easy morning

Of coffee and yawning

And a little Christmas Eve Loving
