Serenade

I know not a word of Spanish

Adjective, noun, or verb

So I’d pretend to be Hispanic

And memorize the words

And though you have no balcony

And I no sombrero 

You still can be my Julieta

And I your brave Roméro

I’d practice and I practice 

I never would be swayed

Till I could sing for you alone 

The perfect serenade

Ven conmigo

Viremos en el paraiso de los enamorados

We will live in lover’s paradise
