All to you

Considered all alternatives 

There ever were to consider

Pondered all positions 

That needed repositioning

Let go of the needless

The wasteful and the negative

Clung to the positive 

The supportive and superlative

Put aside all pridefulness

Embraced my own neediness 

Ended up discovering

The one cold fact that’s true

When it comes to finding my true heart 

I’m leaving it all to you 

The “when’s”, the “where’s”

The “that’s the way it’s gonna be’s” 

The “why’s”, the “what for’s”

All of the “you’s and me’s”

Very few “spits” and “spats”

Or “I’m really sorry about that’s”

Not many “make up’s” just “wake up’s”

Sweet “good morning’s” us two

For when it comes to making love

I’m leaving it all to you 

So don’t complain it’s preordained

No complicated thoughts 

To be applied as to derive

An outcome that’s been taught

Words are wasted when used loosely 

Love’s directions need not be spoken

For actions speak ever more profusely

To fulfill a want that was awoken

A curriculum of caresses commingled 

Interwoven into sensuous seams 

With subtle gestures and murmurs soft

Instructions from unbridled dreams

Striving for love’s honor roll

I’m leaving it all to you

The end result is simply simpler 

A derivative of decisions wrought 

No need for complex reasons

Or being concerned with what ought

For when the finals days arrive

Love’s verdict will ensue 

Years to add for good behavior

Happily let them all accrue

With no regrets as I reflect 

For leaving it all to you 

And tally up the best of days
