a kitten cuddled on the couch

a cold ice cream when it hits your mouth

a smile that goes from ear to ear

a foam on your lip from an ice cold beer 

a nap when you’re tired and doggone beat

a song that makes you tap your feet

a pair of arms when they wave up in the air

a day when you say, “I just don’t care”

a dog when his master gives him a bone

a hug when you finally come back home

a morning stretch seeming never to end 

a call at last from a long lost friend 

a little hand that’s saying, “Pick me up”

a love of a brand new doe eyed pup 

a kiss that lingers on your lovers hand

a wiggle of your toes in the ocean sand

a dream that’s sweet all night long

a melody from your favorite song
