Maternal Love: Dedicated to Beth
Maternal Love
Works of art will come and go
Man made objects all
Pyramids crumble
Statues tumble
The sands of time will make them fall
Nature has enduring objects
Or so it seems sometimes
But mountains erode
Volcanos explode
And celestial bodies collide
But something is more infinite
A love that is maternal
Nothing last longer
Nothing is stronger
Than a Mother’s love eternal
Each year there is a special thanks
To those who often carry
The heavy load
So much is owed
They held us tight
Throughout the night
When dreams became too scary...
For the bandaids taped
On the knees we scrapped
For the no “B. S.”
When we failed that test...
For the patience shown
For the gift of life
For the sound advice
Between wrong and right
For all theses things
And many more
To you we simply say....
That once a year we celebrate
On this second Sunday in May
A hope that you sincerely have
A wondrous and ecstatic
A warm unproblematic
Dynamic and dramatic
And overall emphatic
Happy Mother’s Day
Dedicated to Beth
