Mixing love’s sweet saccharides

Diverging as our rigors 

Drive the currents wide 

Converging as the bond remains

To bridge our soul’s divide

We are blessed and we are damned 

Turbulence begets calm

Emerging from the spray unscathed 

Secure in love’s aplomb 

Channels erode our hardened hearts

A concourse by design

Interweaving, giving in 

To life’s natural decline

In the place where every droplet’s born

And a shake becomes a shiver
